- ***** Math Problem Generator *****

- ==> This program is freely dedicated to the public domain <==
- ==> April 1989 <==
-
-
- This is a simple program which generates addition, subtraction,
- multiplication and division problems. With the various
- options, it should be useful for grades 1 - 4.
-
- I wrote it because my first-grader hates being quizzed on math
- facts. Instead, I print one or two sheets of problems and give
- her a time limit to complete them. If she finishes the sheets
- on time, I don't quiz her. If not, well, it just shows that
- she needs the work.
-
- To execute the program, simply type in MATHPROB from the DOS
- prompt. A screen will appear from which you can select the
- type of problems you want. The various options are:
-
- 1) Choose addition, subtraction, multiplication or division
-
- 2) Print from 1 to 9 pages of problems
-
- 3) Choose the number of digits in each part of the problem
-
- 4) Allow or not allow carries for addition problems
-
- 5) Allow or not allow borrowing for subtraction problems
-
- 6) Allow or not allow remainders for division problems
-
- 7) Select expanded characters if your printer is Epson
- compatible
-
- After the options are selected, press F10 to print. One note:
- Irregardless of the number of digits chosen, the larger number
- will be on top.
-
- The answers to the problems will print on the page following
- the problems. For division problems, two answers are given:
- one to two decimal places and one as a whole number with a
- remainder.
-
- Although I make no guarantees about the program, if there are
- any problems or comments, feel free to contact me.
